HOVERAir X1 Pro and ProMax Set New Standards for Prosumer Camera Drones

ZeroZero Robotics’ HOVERAir X1 Pro and X1 ProMax are redefining the standard for prosumer camera drones, offering cutting-edge features at an affordable price point starting under $500. Building on the success of the original HOVERAir X1, these new models bring substantial upgrades in both performance and camera capabilities.

The HOVERAir X1 Pro, optimized for snow sports and cycling, significantly enhances its predecessor’s capabilities. It boasts a 4K/60fps camera resolution, a leap from the base model’s 2.7K/30fps, and supports slow-motion footage at 1080p/120fps. The Pro model is also faster, with speeds reaching up to 42 km/h (26 mph) and short bursts of 60 km/h (37 mph), making it ideal for capturing dynamic movements.

Battery life has improved, extending from 12 minutes in the base X1 to 16 minutes with the Pro model’s 1,920-mAh lithium battery. This upgrade supports longer flight times and includes the convenience of hot-swapping batteries. Additionally, the Pro’s Wi-Fi range has been extended to 500 meters (1,640 feet), compared to the base X1’s 50 meters (164 feet).

The HOVERAir X1 Pro excels in various conditions, including over water, snow, and in low-light environments. Unlike the base model, it features rear collision detection to avoid obstacles while reversing and tracks the user’s trajectory for accurate follow shots.

For those seeking top-tier performance, the HOVERAir X1 ProMax offers even more advanced features. It supports 8K/30fps video resolution, alongside 4K/60fps and 4K/120fps slow-motion options. The ProMax also includes enhanced vision-based rear collision detection and 64 GB of internal memory, doubling the Pro’s storage capacity. Both models support SD cards up to 1 TB for additional storage.

Slightly larger than the base model, the Pro and ProMax measure 173×149×39 mm when unfolded and weigh about 192 grams (6.8 ounces). In contrast, the original X1 weighs 125 grams (4.4 ounces).

The HOVERAir X1 Pro and X1 ProMax are available through an Indiegogo campaign. Early backers can pledge $399 for the Pro model and $599 for the ProMax, with planned retail prices of $499 and $699, respectively. An optional Beacon device, priced at $129, enhances user experience by providing an OLED screen for viewing shots, controlling the drone via buttons or voice commands, and extending communication range to 1 km (0.6 miles). The Beacon also supports joystick controllers for easier operation.
